The Physical Biosciences Division of Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory (LBNL) has an immediate Scientific Engineering Associate
position with a part time/weekend schedule.



This is a great opportunity for an electromechanically inclined
individual to work in the world-renowned Advanced Light Source user
facility and provide multifunctional technical support for beamline
operations. You will assist internal and external users by documenting
and troubleshooting routine beamline instrumentation issues. There may
be opportunities to participate in engineering projects.

*Key Responsibilities:*

· Align and tune beamlines for users and teach users how to run
beamlines

· As needed, be the liaison between beamline scientists and
various levels of staff at the Berkeley Center for Structural Biology at
the ALS

· Maintain current knowledge of and implement relevant quality
assurance policies and procedures

*Note: *Core hours are from 9 a.m. -- 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays,
with the occasional need for additional hours up to a maximum of 8 hours
per day on the weekend. This is a variable part-time Limited position,
that will not exceed 900 hours in a rolling 12-month period.
