Membrane protein biochemist with Sanofi-Aventis

For the structural biology department with our research center in Vitry (Paris, France) we are seeking for a Post Doctoral fellow in membrane protein biochemistry.

Time frame: Starting as early as September 2007, funding is guaranteed for 18 months.

Job description: The successful candidate will be working in a multidisciplinary team (Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Structural Biology) and involved in designing expression constructs and optimization of protein expression systems. He or she is expected to have strong experience in membrane protein biology and/or biochemistry. The aim is to express functional pharmaceutical relevant membrane protein in recombinant host at level compatible with structural studies.

Requirements: Training/Education - PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology or related science.
Necessary expertise - Membrane protein expression and characterization experience. Interest in protein expression development is highly desirable. Expertise in structural biology would be an advantage. Strong scientific team spirit and enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is required. Languages - fluent English is necessary, French abilities will be an asset.
