Senior Research Fellow

Membrane Structural and Functional Biology

University of Limerick, Ireland

The University of Limerick is inviting applications for the post of Senior Research Fellow in the Membrane Structural and Functional Biology Research Group. The major theme within the Group is structure and function of membrane proteins by crystallographic means. Systems under investigation include respiratory complexes, receptors, transducers, transporters, adhesins/invasins, and quorum sensing-related and biofilm forming membrane proteins of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

The candidate must have a Ph.D. in protein crystallography. Demonstrated success in all aspects of protein crystallization, diffraction data collection and processing, structure solution and refinement, plus experience in molecular biology and protein purification and characterization techniques is required. The candidate should be a highly motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. Strong leadership, communication and teaching skills are decided assets.

Informal enquiries about the post may be directed to: Professor Martin Caffrey, Membrane Structural and Functional Biology Group, Phone: +353-61-234174. E-mail: martin.caffrey@ul.ie

The salary range for the position is EUR41,399 - EUR84,870 per annum. The contract period is 4 years.

Applicants should send a letter of application and a CV with a list of publications and the names of three referees by e-mail to martin.caffrey@ul.ie or by post to:
