Postdoctoral Positions at the Burnham Institute, Center for Neurosciences and Aging

Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in a newly-opened laboratory to study the structure and function of receptor-ligand and protein-protein complexes involved in neuronal synapse functions. Our lab employs a multidisciplinary approach involving X-ray crystallography and other structural methods combined with electrophysiology and cell biology to understand fundamental mechanisms underlying synaptic plasticity, memory formation and neurodegenerative disease. The successful candidates should have a Ph.D. degree, strong motivation, and experience in one or more of the following research areas: structural biology (X-ray crystallography), protein chemistry, biophysics, molecular biology and/or electrophysiology. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications.

The Burnham Institute is located in La Jolla, San Diego. A wide variety of intellectual and technical resources are also available, such as UC San Diego, the Salk Institute, the Scripps Research Institute, and other numerous biotech companies. To apply for this position please send curriculum vitae, a brief statement describing technical expertise, future research interests, and names of three references to Dr. Rongsheng Jin (rjin@burnham.org ).
