INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT TECH III, STAFF SCIENTIST, W. M. KECK FOUNDATION
CENTER FOR MOLECULAR STRUCURE

The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and Department of
Chemistry and Biochemistry seek applications for the position of Staff
Scientist, W.M. Keck Foundation Center for Molecular Structure (CMolS)
at California State University Fullerton. The anticipated start date is
January 1, 2007 or sooner. CMolS is a core facility supporting research
and instruction in the 23-campus California State University. The staff
scientist will be responsible for solving small molecule and
macromolecular X-ray crystal structures for internal and external users,
maintaining and operating facility equipment and computers, which are
remotely accessible, training prospective hands-on users, teaching X-ray
diffraction in relevant courses and professional development workshops,
and assisting in the laboratory management of CMolS. The staff scientist
will also be expected to assist in the development of instrumentation
proposals and will be encouraged to engage in independent research
projects. An advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related
discipline and three or more years of hands-on experience in small
molecule and/or macromolecular X-ray crystallography are required.
Experience in powder diffraction and refinement is a plus. Applicants
should be equipped with excellent written and oral communication skills.
