However, with a different card, they should still be able to make it work with that computer. http://reald-corporate.com/scientific/graphics_cards_by_os.asp We were able to pick up an ATI FireGL V7100 for about $130 roughly 9-10 months ago that works great in our graphics machine. I believe that the motherboard on an Optiplex 755 has a PCI-E 16X slot that could be used to for a stereo enabled video card. As was said before, a power supply upgrade would almost certainly be necessary at that point. Pretty much all the Dells that I've put my hands on use ATX PSUs, but it's still worth taking a look to double check before you start buying parts. -Chris Kay Diederichs wrote: > >> Hi CCP4ers >> I know I am churning over a well discussed subject but: >> >> We have been trying to figure out the best way to use our NuVision >> graphics glasses on the OPTIPLEX 755 Dell. >> >> Turns out the graphics card (NVIDIA FX 3700) is not compatible with >> this type of computer due to size issues. >> >> Can anyone recommend the type of glasses and or if it is possible to >> use them for 3D viewing ?O and Coot- on an Apple? >> >> Or does anyone know of an alternative glass/card I could use on the >> OPTIPLEX 755? > > Hi Gina & those respondents writing about Dell computers, > > sounds like you will not be able to do Stereo with that machine. > > Take a look at the CCP4wiki "Computer hardware" article > (http://strucbio.biologie.uni-konstanz.de/ccp4wiki/index.php/Computer_hardware) > - I can still recommend that machine.
