Post doctoral position available at IGBMC
(Illkirch, in the immediate vicinity of Strasbourg, France)

A post-doctoral position (2 years) is immediately available in the
Department of Structural Biology and Genomics of IGBMC. Candidates are
invited to participate in a challenging project with impact on human
health.

The project consists of a structural investigation of a small non coding
RNA molecule which is involved in transcription regulation in
eukaryotes. The aim is to give a structural basis to deciphering the
role of that RNA molecule, which acts as a switch tuning the activity of
a transcription factor, or as a scaffold for coordinated assembly of
nuclear ribonucleic acid particles.

Candidates should have experience in structural investigation, either in
X-ray crystallography, electron microscopy, or small-angle X-ray/neutron
scattering, and should be interested in combining these techniques to
tackle large complexes.

The candidate will enjoy the stimulating environment of the new IGBMC
extension, the Centre Européen de Biologie Structurale, where the
project will benefit from direct access to the Structural Biology and
Genomics Platform at IGBMC for cloning, expression and crystallization
and where the structural facilities are located (Rigaku diffractomer
with Micromax 007-HF generator and Saturn 944 CCD detector, and a
Tecnai20 field-emission gun electron microscope.
