From: Jiamu Du jiamudu {- at -} GMAIL {- dot -} COM Date: 2009-02-08 Dear All, Sorry for an off topic question. I am studying a transmembrane protein. An extracellular Glu residue might be the key residue for its function. The mutation experiment results some unfavourable effects. So I want to find some chemicals which can modified the sidechain of Glu or neutralize its negative charge at least. While these chemicals should not have cytotoxic effects to cell. Because the experiment must be carried out with live cells. Is there any suggestions or references? Thanks. -- Jiamu Du, Ph.D. State Key Laboratory of Molecular Biology Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences Chinese Academy of Sciences 320 Yue-Yang Road Shanghai 200031 P.
