Then don’t miss the opportunity to participate at Bioinformatics 2007, the 9th International Northern European Bioinformatics Conference, taking place from June 4 – 7, in the Aula Nordica on Umeå University’s campus, in Umeå, Sweden. http://www.bioinformatics2007.conf.umu.se/ The conference starts off with two “crazy ideas that are becoming reality”. In an exciting double-feature keynote lecture you can listen to Ajay K. Royyuru, from the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, talking about “The Human Genographic Project”. Followed by the “Linnaeus lecture” given by Rob DeSalle, from the American Museum of Natural History, who will tell you about the ”Barcoding Life on Earth” project. Both are fitting topics for the year Sweden celebrate the 300th birthday of Carl von Linné, the "Father of Taxonomy". In addition we have invited an excellent blend of internationally renowned speakers, distributed over six sessions (* see list of speakers and conference home page). Submit a poster abstract and you might be selected for an oral presentation or your poster might win the best poster prize. Please note: We have extended the deadline for abstract submission to May 20th.
